Christina Martos
Christina Martos was born an Army brat, calls New Jersey her home state, and has been a resident of New Mexico since 2008. She is a multidisciplinary performer with crossover backgrounds in musical theater, drama, classical vocal performance, dance, and jazz vocals. Credits include Sophie in Terrance McNally’s Master Class (City Theater Pittsburgh, AEA), and the title role of Annina in Menotti’s The Saint of Bleecker Street (Central City Opera), directed by Catherine Malfitano. Local credits include Ron Strauss’s Los Bufones (world premiere, National Hispanic Cultural Center), Montage Music Society, Chamber Orchestra of the Springs (Colorado Springs), Chatter (Albuquerque), and the Abiquiu Chamber Music Festival. She previously appeared with the Santa Fe Playhouse in Sunday in the Park with George and Cebollas. Future performances include a production of Doña Clementina with Opera Southwest, and concert engagements in Wichita and Santa Fe. She has music degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and the Yale School of Music, and was a resident young artist with the Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center.
